VOLENA (Volena Apostolova) is a Bulgarian singer, songwriter, and actress based in Sofia. Her music blends pop, alternative, and jazz influences with a strong theatrical sensibility and emotional depth. Known for her distinctive vocal tone and expressive stage presence, she has performed leading roles in Bulgarian musical theatre productions such as Grease and Hair. VOLENA writes both music and lyrics, exploring themes of identity, transformation, and inner strength. Since launching her solo project in 2021, she has been steadily building her presence on the Bulgarian music scene through original releases, live performances, and media appearances.

VOLENA (Volena Apostolova) is a Bulgarian singer, songwriter, and actress, born in 1998 in Ruse, Bulgaria. She began her artistic journey as a teenager on the reality show The X Factor and later graduated from the National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts in Sofia. Volena has performed leading roles in Bulgarian musical theatre productions such as Grease (as Betty Rizzo) and Hair, and has contributed her singing voice to children’s films and shows, including Mufasa: The Lion King (as Sarabi).

In 2021, VOLENA appeared on The Voice of Bulgaria (Team Galena), showcasing her distinctive vocal style and stage presence, marking the beginning of her solo author project. She writes both music and lyrics, blending pop, theatrical, and alternative influences. Her achievements include a nomination in the Bulgarian National Radio Spring Competition “Prolet,” which supports new original pop and rock music and connects artists to international festivals such as Eurosonic, as well as winning an award in the New Bulgarian University New Talent competition.

In early 2025, VOLENA was selected to participate in an international songwriting camp organized by So! Live Music Conference in Zagreb, Croatia, collaborating with artists and songwriters from across Europe. In 2024, she released the singles “Perfektnata kombinaciya (Pari, Pari)” and “Mantra”. Her debut album Pandora, released at the end of 2025, is a multi-genre collection exploring emotion, strength, and personal transformation.
